Programmes & Projects

The work we do.

KZNCC delivers programmes across eight focus areas — from advocacy and reconciliation to children, water justice, and ethical leadership. Each is rooted in our member churches and the communities they serve.

01

Lobbying & Advocacy

KZNCC's lobbying and advocacy approach values a position where the people come to a place where they speak for themselves in front of policy makers, legislature, traditional leaders, business or the faith sector. This is about speaking for, speaking with, and supporting people speak for themselves.

Healing of Memories

A consortium of 11 organisations working collaboratively on healing of memories and reconciliation. Mobilising affected people, providing healing-of-memories sessions, capacity-building workshops, and one-on-one counselling — helping individuals and groups work through their personal history and develop attitudes and actions that support a just, equitable and whole society.

Reconciliation
03

Children & Youth

Equipping churches across KZN to be safe spaces for children, with psychosocial support programmes, training on protective behaviours, and active participation of children in congregational life. Recent activities include workshops at Africa Enterprise, Amajuba District training, and Passover Camp visitations.

Capacity Building

Workshops, training and strategic support for church volunteers, leaders and ministries — strengthening governance, safeguarding policy, ministry effectiveness and the day-to-day skills needed to serve communities well.

Equipping
05

Ethical Leadership Development

Strengthening accountable, values-driven leadership within the Church. KZNCC walks alongside emerging and established leaders to embed integrity, transparency, and ethical conviction in church governance and ministry.

Integrity
06

Peace & Moral Regeneration

Promoting reconciliation, integrity, and ethical transformation in society — a continuation of the Natal Church Leaders Group's historic peace mediation work, applied to the moral and political challenges of contemporary KZN.

Reconciliation
07

Church & Government Engagement

Building constructive partnerships with provincial government and civic institutions for the common good. KZNCC convenes the conversation between the church, the state, and the people the state is meant to serve.

Blue Communities Africa Water Project

Advancing water as a sacred trust — a human right, a public service, a common good. KZNCC mobilises faith communities across KZN to advocate for clean water, sanitation, and the protection of water sources from privatisation and pollution.
