What a wonderful and inspiring week!
On Wednesday, the KZNCC delegates led by Dr Douglas Dziva, the Chief Executive Officer, together with Professor Simanga Kumalo from the UKZN School of Religion and the Maurice Webb Testamentary Trusts , had the honour of hosting Prof. Joerg Rieger, a globally respected theologian known for his work on economic justice and social transformation.
We began the day with a Church Leaders Engagement from 10am to 2pm, where Prof. Rieger led us in a rich and thought-provoking discussion on the relationship between the USA and South Africa. The conversations were deep, honest, and empowering for everyone present.
Later in the afternoon, we had the opportunity to tour the city with him. We enjoyed authentic African cuisine at Khayelikhulu Restaurant, followed by a visit to the museum at the old railway station, where we viewed the iconic Mahatma Gandhi statue. It was a meaningful moment, connecting history, justice, and the ongoing work of peace.
A truly busy week, but one filled with learning, connection, and inspiration!
