The KwaZulu-Natal Christian Council (KZNCC) is a fellowship of churches and church-based organisations in KwaZulu-Natal Province. Established in 1996, KZNCC is an autonomous organisation affiliated to the South African Council of Churches (SACC).
Our member churches work and act together for peace, justice, reconciliation, and unity — seeking deeper understanding of one another, developing wider dialogue, and building communities rooted in justice and peace.
Speaking with — and supporting people to speak for themselves — before policy makers, legislatures, traditional leaders, business and the faith sector.
A consortium of 11 organisations walking with affected people through workshops, counselling and capacity building toward a just, equitable society.
Equipping churches to be safe spaces for children, with psychosocial support, protective behaviours training and active youth participation.
Equipping churches and ministries with tools, training and strategic support — strengthening leadership, governance and ministry effectiveness.
In 2026 KZNCC marks thirty years since its inauguration in March 1996 at St Mary's Catholic Church, Pietermaritzburg. From the founding leadership of Rev. Sipho Sokhela through Rev. Phumzile Zondi-Mabizela and Dr. Douglas Dziva, the Council has carried a single calling — that the churches of KwaZulu-Natal, in all their diversity, would walk together for peace, justice and reconciliation.
