KwaZulu-Natal Christian Council (KZNCC) in partnership with Kagiso Trust recognized the need of conducting workshops to train trainers of trainers (ToT) in all 9 provinces of the Republic of South Africa..

Kagiso Trust entrusted KwaZulu-Natal Christian Council (KZNCC) to partner with South Africa Democracy and Election Network (SA-DEN) and #Unmuted Civil Society in South Africa with the national responsibility of implementing the 2024 National and Provincial Election Project in 54 districts, and 257 municipalities in all 9 provinces.

KZNCC was tasked to manage all the National and Provincial 2024 Elections activities which include Voter and Balloting Education, Civic and Democracy Education and Mediation and Conflict Resolution.

On the 13 March 2024,the National and Provincial 2024 Project was launched  nationwide, and the Press or Media Statement was released by the Kagiso Trust leadership to market, and publicize the project, thus ensuring its national visibility, and significance in South Africa.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF ELECTIONS  PROGRAMME

  • To conduct mobilization and consultation sessions in 54 districts of all 9 provinces in the Republic of South Africa. To recruit, train and deploy 100 mediators per province
  • Focussing on issues of good governance and effective leadership in Church, government, business and other public offices. To train three (3) Master Trainers of Trainers per province.
  • To roll out Civic and Democracy Education workshops in each of the 9 provinces in conjunction with the #Unmute Civil Society campaign resolution.
  • Setting up project media, publicity and communication systems on Voter and Balloting Education resulting in improved voter education & reduced spoiled ballot papers.
  • Capacity Building materials on Mediation and Conflict Resolution. Crafting positive messages for conflict resulting in reduced violent protests and intra and inter political party violence and killings
