The KwaZulu-Natal Christian Council (KZNCC) held its 29th Annual General Meeting on Friday, 29 August 2025 at the Garden Court Hotel, South Beach in Durban.
The meeting reaffirmed continuity while embracing fresh leadership, as the previous Executive Committee was reinstated with notable new additions.
Two female clergy leaders joined the Committee for the first time — Ds. L. Meyer of the NG Kerk and Major P. Ziqubu of The Salvation Army — strengthening gender representation and broadening ecumenical voices at the leadership table.
The Assembly also re-elected Presiding Bishop Nkosinathi Myaka as Chairperson and Bishop Nathi Zondi as Executive Secretary for a third consecutive term, affirming confidence in their continued leadership.
A significant milestone in this election was the expansion of the Executive Committee to include Chairpersons from all 11 District Offices, following the finalisation of the District Development Model (DDM) process. This marks a new phase in strengthening local ecumenical structures and ensuring that district voices are represented in provincial decision-making.
The new Executive Committee is well-positioned to lead KZNCC into its next chapter of ecumenical service, unity, and impact across the province.
