The KZNCC’s youth & children’s programme promotes the wellbeing, resilience and dignity of children Lobbying and advocating for children’s rights with a key focus on policy formation, reformation or implementation of turn -around strategies on children issues.
Mobilizing local churches, ecumenical organizations, business and local families to practically contribute sustainable solutions to the plight of children at risk, protecting youth & children.
Running workshops to develop skills of children, raising awareness and educating communities on the rights of children fostering child participation where appropriate in all issues that concern them.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF KZNCC’S YOUTH & CHILDRENS PROGRAMME
- To promote access to land rights, land tenure and human rights on farm and rural communities , focussing on rural and farm land affected by land issues.
- To promote peace and stability in identified KwaZulu Natal farm areas affected by land violence and conflict. Promoting healing and reconciliation through processes like Healing of Memories, Alternatives to Violence .
- To contribute towards the development of land policies that benefit both the landless people and commercial farmers responding to human rights abuses which come to light with any group.
- Uplifting Church farming communities , with the Emphases on effective practical use of Church land . Supporting Church communities involved in organic commercial farming.
- Collaborating with government and business to support local Church farming communities. Promoting job creation and poverty alleviation Contributing to food security.
