KZNCC delivers programmes across six focus areas — from healing of memories and elections through to LGBTIQA+ inclusion, youth and children, gender justice and land. Each is rooted in our member churches and the communities they serve.
KZNCC leads a network of organisations mobilising communities to address accumulated pain and multiple woundedness — from apartheid, political and xenophobic violence, HIV, and gender-based violence. Every story needs to be heard, acknowledged, and respected.
In partnership with Kagiso Trust and SA-DEN, KZNCC implemented the 2024 National and Provincial Election Project across 54 districts and 257 municipalities in all 9 provinces — voter and balloting education, civic and democracy education, mediation and conflict resolution.
The KZNCC LGBTIQA+ Programme equips KZN Church Leaders to be prophetic in their pastoral response to stigma and discrimination — addressing homophobia in churches and engaging heads of churches to make the church a safe space for LGBTIQA+ people.
Promoting the wellbeing, resilience and dignity of children — lobbying for children's rights, mobilising churches and families, and developing skills through workshops that affirm child participation.
Contributing to increased access to Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV Testing and GBVF Services — through the Izigodi Model that brings knowledge and awareness to villages in geographically remote communities.
KZNCC plays a proactive role in resolving land issues in the province — facilitating dialogue between farmers and farm dwellers, and offering capacity-building in mediation, conflict resolution and advocacy.
